Groupage and pallet shipping to Europe
Your pallets share a truck with other shipments heading the same way. You pay for the space you actually use, with the same safeguards as a full load.
How groupage works
We collect your goods, consolidate them at a hub with other shipments for the same destination, and a local truck delivers them on arrival. It is the most cost-effective option for roughly 1 to 12 pallets.
- Shipments of 1 to 12 pallets, one-off or regular
- Heavy parcels and odd-sized pallets
- Store replenishment, distributor deliveries, spare parts
- Tail-lift delivery for consignees without a loading dock
How is the price worked out?
Groupage is charged on whichever is greater: actual weight or chargeable weight. The standard rule is one loading metre equals 1,750 kg. A non-stackable Euro pallet takes up 0.4 loading metres, so it is charged at 700 kg even if it only weighs 300.
| Pallet | Space taken |
|---|---|
| Euro 120 × 80 | 0.4 loading metres (700 kg chargeable) |
| Industrial 120 × 100 | 0.5 loading metres (875 kg chargeable) |
| Half pallet 80 × 60 | 0.2 loading metres (350 kg chargeable) |
Getting your pallets ready
- Stretch-wrap the full height of the pallet and strap heavy loads
- Recommended maximum height: 1.8 m for a non-stackable pallet
- A clear label with the consignee name and number of packages
- Delivery note attached to the goods
Frequently asked questions
Is groupage slower than a full truckload?
Yes, by 1 to 3 days depending on the lane, because the goods go through a sorting hub at both ends. For urgent shipments, dedicated express is the better fit.
Will my goods be handled?
They are loaded and unloaded at the hub, always on the pallet and by forklift. Proper stretch-wrapping is enough to protect them.
Do you deliver to private addresses?
Yes, with a tail-lift truck and a delivery slot agreed by phone. Just mention it in your request.
